Arizona Coalition for School Libraries and Information Technology (ACSLit)
March 11, 2008- Arizona Republic runs a front page story on the statewide decline of certified
teacher-librarians.
April 16, 2008- Arizona Republic reveals that Mesa Public Schools, Arizona's largest school district,
plan to eliminate all certified teacher-librarians over a three year period and to replace
them with clerks.
April 22, 2008- Fund Our Future Arizona is launched at a rally to support students and school library
services prior to the Mesa Public Schools Board meeting.
April 23, 2008- The Arizona Library Association and the American Library Association become Charter
Members of Fund Our Future Arizona.
April 24, 2008- Founding Parent Members Ann-Eve Pedersen, Rachel Bisanz, and Dana Pitt join the Coalition.
May 7, 2008- AMIGOS Library Services becomes an Endorser of Fund Our Future Arizona. Amigos Library
Services is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization dedicated to serving libraries.
